5 Ways to Build at Home Rituals (that actually stick)
1. Begin the day with a pause
Instead of reaching for your phone first thing in the morning, take 60 seconds to breathe, stretch, or sip a glass of water. Think about what you want to accomplish for the day and spend a few minutes writing it out in a journal.
*Morning skincare/shower is non negotiable. I try to start the day drinking colostrum and make breakfast before having coffee. Writing out a few sentences in my journal or making a to do list really help to organize my thoughts for the day
2. Create a midday reset
Afternoons often bring mental fatigue and a dip in focus. Use this as your cue for a short break. Step outside, make tea or do a quick body scan to release tension.
*A spritz of Botanical Mist and a matcha latte usually do the trick!
3. Create an evening anchor
Transition out of “day mode” with a calming ritual. Light a candle, put on classical music while you make dinner and do your evening skincare early so that you don’t feel rushed.
*I always do my evening skincare at least an hour before bed. If I'm feeling over stimulated, I put on classical music (quiet volume) and this immediately calms my thoughts
4. Add comfort cues
Small touches like a yummy candle, cozy socks, warm tea or tying your hair back - help signal that it’s time to unwind.
*Having tea in bed, with a book for 10-15 minutes before I go to bed is the best way to ensure a quality nights sleep
5. Keep it small
Choose one ritual that feels easy and let it build from there. Gentle acts of care stick better than rigid routines.
Remember: Rituals don’t have to be perfect – they just need to feel good. The gentler they are, the more likely they’ll stay with you.
