Should I trust ai with my skincare routine?

Should I trust ai with my skincare routine?

Ahh this is a complicated topic that seems to keep resurfacing in my dms and treatment room.

Listen, I totally get that ai is great at gathering data on the internet and compiling it in once place for you to asses. I understand that you can feed it information about what you are experiencing and give it background information about your life in the same way that you would if you had a consultation with me.

If you don't have sensitive skin, and you would just like recommendations for a simple routine, I'm sure any ai website can suggest some decent products. However, if you are someone who has sensitive skin, prone to breakouts and inflammation etc, I would be very cautious with this.

There is a vast difference between the ai machine and a real skin specialist. If you are experiencing acne, the machine doesn't know to ask what type of acne you have, so you would need to understand yourself what it is.

Is it bacterial? Fungal? Dermatitis? Rosacea? Blackheads? White heads? Sebaceous filaments?

Or how about what the cause may be?

Is it due to hormonal imbalance? Dehydration? Gut imbalance? Excessive product use resulting in barrier imbalance?

Depending on what type of inflammation you've got going on and how you developed it, you need to target treatment in different ways. Some things require more exfoliation, some require none. Certain types of acne are treated with specific acids and yes, it really does make a difference in either improving or worsening your condition.

If you are trying to save time and money

its actually better to just invest it in getting a facial, where your skin professional can asses you in person and give you real time advice.

You will save money on products in the long run that don't work for you and time on trying to figure out what we have spent years of our life researching.
